Plain definitions for the access control and community infrastructure concepts behind Simsim Residential.
- Access control
- The systems and processes that decide who can enter a community, gate, or zone, and when. Simsim manages access control through digital identity and modern validation instead of stickers or cards.
- Arm gate system
- The barrier-arm gates commonly used at community entrances. Simsim works with virtually any arm gate system through the Simsim Gate Controller, with no need to replace the gate.
- Simsim Gate Controller
- Simsim's hardware that connects existing arm gates to the platform, enabling validated, automated access without replacing the gate.
- Guest pass
- A temporary access pass a resident generates in Simsim and shares, for example over WhatsApp, so a visitor can enter. Guests do not need an account or app.
- Resident identity
- A resident's secure digital identity in Simsim, connected to their memberships, units, permissions, and access rights across the communities they belong to.
- Visitor management
- The process of inviting, validating, and tracking guests entering a community. Simsim handles visitor management through guest passes and fast scanner validation.
- QR access
- Entry validated by scanning a QR code. Simsim uses dynamic QR codes that change to prevent screenshots and reuse.
- Community infrastructure
- The connected systems a community runs on: identity, access, operations, services, and communication. Simsim provides these as one platform instead of fragmented tools.
- Multi-gate operations
- Managing several gates, zones, and access points across a community from one centralized system, with real-time sync across all gates.
- Gated community
- A residential community with controlled entry points. Simsim Residential is built to modernize access and operations for gated communities and compounds.
- Residential compound
- A managed residential development with shared infrastructure and controlled access, served by Simsim Residential.
- Scanner app
- The Simsim Scanner App used by security teams to validate residents and guests. It runs on Android phones and supported Android scanner devices.
